Preview and publish
Try a draft safely, publish it to development and production, and switch everything off in an emergency.
Preview
- Live preview in the builder runs the real SDK on your draft.
- Open in my app creates a preview link that works for one hour. Add the SDK to your app first. The link only works in that app (an SDK running with one of its keys), so it cannot put your draft on anyone else's site. Preview traffic is never counted.
Publish
Choose Publish, pick Development or Production, and say what changed. Publishing:
- validates the guide against the guide spec,
- saves an immutable version (only if something changed),
- rebuilds the environment's config and writes it to the edge.
Users see the change within a minute: configs are cached for 30 seconds at the edge, and the cache is cleared on publish.
On Free, up to 3 guides can be live in production. Development has no limit.
Pause, unpublish and the kill switch

| Turn off guides (Environments) | Stops every guide in an environment, without a release. |
Guides that are already open finish their current step and close quietly; your app keeps working.
