Your first guide

From an empty dashboard to a live four-step guide, with clips, in about 10 minutes.

This walks through the dashboard with an invoicing app as the example. You need the SDK installed and at least one data-guide anchor in your app.

Start from a template

Open Guides › New guide. Pick Welcome tour and name it Create first invoice. The name becomes the guide id, create-first-invoice, which developers can pass to playstep.start().

Point each step at an element

Select step 1 and type the anchor, new-invoice-btn. The field suggests anchors your app has already reported. Write a short title (Tap New) and one sentence of text.

Choose Add a clip. Upload a 3–10 second screen recording of the step, or paste a link to an MP4 you host or a YouTube video. On the Free plan the clip is trimmed and compressed in your browser before it uploads.

Choose how the step completes

They tap the anchor completes the step when the user taps the highlighted element. Other rules are covered in completion rules.

Preview and publish

The live preview on the right runs the real SDK on your draft. When it looks right, choose Publish, pick Development, and reload your app. The guide is live within a minute.

When it is ready for everyone

Publish the same guide to Production. Each publish saves a version; if something goes wrong, open Versions and roll back. See preview and publish.
